Not only do Americans have to look after themselves and their families but also their beloved pet dogs. The dog slaughter scare spread after the Main Intelligence Directorate General Staff of the Armed Forces issued a warning on the ISIS planned killing of American-owned dogs and puppies.
Turki al-Bin‘ali, Islamic State's (ISIS) top religious scholar issued the fatwa (Islamic legal pronouncement) in response to their young supporters/sympathizers concern about being captured, killed should they wage jihad.
The fatwa, which was published on Dabiq, the Islamic State's official online magazine, contains a message that justify mass murdering their puppies and dogs as a way of terrorizing the Westerners, although "the main duty of jihad was to “kill/destroy/main” as many infidels (non-believers/Christians/Jews, etc.) as possible."
There are currently 70 to 80 million pet puppies and dogs all across the US, which gives ISIS more leverage considering that the American police forces' main priority is still protecting and saving human lives. Not only will it strike fear among American and "infidels" but it will also create hysteria in the armed forces department.
The fatwa further advises supporters to target only pet dogs and puppies residing in homes and exclude those found in farms. Islamic State Caliphate scholar Turki al-Bin‘ali also stresses in the fatwa the following scriptures:
Whoever keeps a dog, one Qirat of the reward of his good deeds is deducted daily, unless the dog is used for guarding a farm or cattle. — Bukhari Vol. 3, #515
Prayer is annulled by a dog, a donkey and a woman (if they pass in front of the praying people). — Bukhari Vol. 1, #490
Angels (of Mercy) do not enter a house wherein there is a dog or a picture of a living creature (a human being or an animal). — Bukhari Vol. 4, #448
Recent statistics show that only 17% of the American population are supporters of the ISIS ideology. This number is expected to decrease as when the said mass slaughter has been reinforced.
